After six years of blasting indie guitars, catchy tunes and pumping lights, Ballarat band Neon Love have played their final show at their homeground venue, the Karova Lounge.

Supported by pop-punk-indie-mash-ups The Cairos and Comic Sans, the last show was a sentimental one with guitarist/singer Nipuna Jayasekera going through six years worth of thank-yous and couldn’t-do-it-withouts. “I’m not feeling anything,” says Nip Jay, “It feels like nothing, but I think it’s just me trying to cope with it.”

To say that their last show was energetic would be an understatement. The strobe lights and the velvet capes were a great crowd pleaser, as the dancing mass of people on the floor continued to pass drinks to their friends on stage.

Although Neon Love are officially over, die hard fans shouldn’t fear; some of the self-confessed brothers are planning on continuing with new bands and musical projects.
